Entrepreneur Anupam Mittal is once again launching the DreamDeal initiative, a unique platform designed to empower youth and less privileged individuals in India. As the founder of Shaadi.com and a renowned angel investor, Mittal aims to ignite an entrepreneurial spirit amongst India’s youth and marginalized communities by providing grants, funding, and mentorship through the DreamDeal Reel Challenge.
DreamDeal is a groundbreaking platform that seeks to democratize entrepreneurship and boost India’s thriving start-up culture. Its second edition, the DreamDeal Reel Challenge, invites participants as young as 13 years old to pitch their innovative business ideas in a 30-second Instagram reel. In their pitches, participants must outline the idea, why they want to pursue it, and how they plan to utilize the grant they may receive.
The evaluation process will consider the originality and innovation of the ideas, as well as their potential impact on society. The number of likes and engagement that the reel receives will also be taken into account. The ten best ideas will be selected, with the first-place winner receiving a grant of ₹1 lakh and mentorship from Anupam Mittal himself. The second and third place winners will receive grants of ₹75,000 each, along with mentorship. The remaining seven participants will have the opportunity to engage in a group mentorship session.
Anupam Mittal, the Founder and CEO of People Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, The sheer talent that came forward to pitch their ideas through DreamDeal last year left me amazed. It is no secret that India is teeming with enthusiastic and talented young individuals passionate about positively impacting society at large with their entrepreneurial pursuits. By bringing back DreamDeal, my goal is to extend micro-grants and mentorship to more people and inspire and empower them to take their first steps in their entrepreneurial journeys.
The previous edition of DreamDeal received over 200 entries across diverse sectors such as Agriculture, FinTech, Automobile, Biotechnology, Robotics, Childcare, Construction, Real Estate, Sports, Pharmaceuticals, and Tourism. Last year’s winners included Mohammed Anees, who aimed to create an affordable, user-friendly drug delivery device for wart patients, Jatan Wani and Manas Koli, a biotechnologist duo proposing the production of 100% biodegradable mushroom leather, and Dhaval Nai, who planned to develop a chai glass washing machine to assist restaurants, vendors, and cafes in India with time, hygiene, and cost-related issues.
Anupam Mittal’s DreamDeal initiative is driven by his passion for supporting entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The platform aims to nurture entrepreneurial talents, providing fertile ground for innovative ideas to flourish in every corner of India. With its grants, funding, and mentorship opportunities, DreamDeal holds the promise of inspiring aspiring entrepreneurs and enabling them to realize their dreams.
