A resident of Ranchi, Tanveer Akhtar Mohd Lake Khan, has been booked for allegedly raping and blackmailing an aspiring model based in Mumbai. The case has been registered under several sections of the IPC and the IT Act. The victim, who hails from Bhagalpur, Bihar, met the accused during a modeling workshop in Ranchi, and he allegedly raped her repeatedly from 2021 onwards. She also claimed that the accused threatened to harm her if she reported the incidents to anyone and tried to coerce her into changing her religion and name. Moreover, he also sent objectionable pictures of her to her mother and brother after she refused to accede to his demands. The case has been transferred to Ranchi Police.
