The Haryana Sarpanch Association (HSA) has given the state government 10 days to accept their demands, during a rally of 10,000 people outside Jind’s Eklavya stadium. The HSA is demanding the complete implementation of the Panchayati Raj Act, cancellation of the right to recall MLAs and MPs, an increase in daily wages under the job guarantee scheme to Rs 600, rollback of the e-tendering system, and more. HSA chief Ranbir Singh Samain has said that if the demands are not met in 10 days, sarpanches will fix ‘boycott BJP-JJP’ posters outside every village and cordon the homes of Haryana MPs on June 20. They have also threatened to post 30 people at every booth until 2024 to ensure the defeat of the BJP-JJP combine in the state and boycott any political party that fields panchayat minister Devender Babli in the next assembly elections.
