Student Activists Protest Corruption: Gwalior’s Jiwaji University Vice Chancellor Accused

In an effort to bring attention to alleged corruption, student activists from the National Student Union of India (NSUI) held protests against the Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The activists accused the Vice Chancellor, Avinash Tiwari, of being involved in corrupt activities and raised slogans against him while also defacing his cabin wall with the words corrupt officer in black paint.

The protests extended beyond the Vice Chancellor, as the NSUI activists also targeted the controller of examination and chancellor secretary. Despite the uproar, none of the university officials came out of their offices to address the concerns. Inside the university, Vice Chancellor Avinash Tiwari, Registrar RK Baghel, Controller of Examination AK Sharma, and Vice-Chancellor’s Secretary DN Goswami remained secluded.

Led by NSUI student leader Vansh Maheswari and his aides, the activists displayed posters throughout the university corridors that read bhrasht officers (corrupt officers). Maheswari expressed his disappointment, stating that the university had become a hub of corruption under Vice Chancellor Tiwari’s leadership. He highlighted the alleged illegal granting of university affiliation to 400 colleges and criticized the lack of action taken by the university administration despite repeated memoranda being submitted.

It is evident that the student activists are deeply concerned about the integrity and transparency of Jiwaji University’s administration. Their protests shed light on the allegations of corruption surrounding the Vice Chancellor and raise important questions about the university’s affiliation process. However, it is important to consider all perspectives and gather more information to form a balanced view of the situation.

The accusations made by the NSUI activists should prompt a thorough investigation into the alleged corruption. It is crucial to determine whether these allegations hold any merit and take appropriate action accordingly. The reputation and credibility of Jiwaji University are at stake, and addressing these concerns promptly will be pivotal in ensuring a fair and transparent system for all stakeholders.

As the news unfolds, it is essential for all parties involved, including the university administration and the student activists, to engage in constructive dialogue to reach a resolution. Transparency, accountability, and fairness should be the guiding principles in any investigation that takes place.

The protests at Jiwaji University highlight the importance of student activism in India, as it plays a vital role in drawing attention to issues that impact the educational system. Students’ voices should be heard, and their concerns should be taken seriously by the authorities responsible for upholding the integrity of academic institutions.

Moving forward, a thorough investigation should be conducted to either substantiate or dismiss the allegations of corruption. The findings must be communicated transparently to the public, ensuring the credibility and reputation of Jiwaji University are upheld.

In conclusion, the student activists from NSUI have accused the Vice Chancellor and other officials of corruption at Jiwaji University. Their protests have shed light on the alleged illegal granting of university affiliations and the lack of action taken by the administration. A thorough investigation is necessary to address these concerns and maintain the integrity of the university.
