Maharashtra, India’s worst-hit region during the COVID-19 pandemic, has reported eleven new cases taking the total tally of cases to over 81.69 million. The number of fatalities remained the same, with no deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The state currently has 299 active cases. The Mumbai circle accounted for the highest number of cases, with the Pune, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nagpur, and Latur circles reporting no fresh cases. As per the bulletin, Maharashtra logged 286 new cases in the week between May 23 and May 29, compared with 488 cases in the previous week between May 16 and May 22, 2023. Maharashtra has a 98.18% recovery rate and a case fatality rate of 1.81%.
