Microsoft is reportedly working on a new accessibility feature for its Bing AI that aims to improve the user experience for individuals with visual impairments. This development comes after a blind user on Twitter, @susianguard, expressed difficulty in navigating the chat history on Bing AI due to its current placement between output and input. This arrangement makes it challenging for visually impaired users to scroll between the two sections.
The user tweeted, I’m blind and use a screen reader, on edge and when working with Bing AI, the chat history is right in the middle of output and input when browsing. Could you please change this so we could easily scroll up and down between output and input? Thank you. Recognizing the importance of addressing accessibility concerns, Mikhail Parakhin, who is responsible for Bing AI chat’s research and development, responded to the tweet and assured the user that he would investigate the issue further.
While it remains uncertain when this accessibility feature will be available, it is essential to approach this news with caution, as features often undergo extensive internal testing before being released to the public.
Earlier, Parakhin had also shared that the team was working on another Bing AI feature that allows users to exclude web searches from their chat experience.
