An Indian security expert’s prediction that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan suffered from alcoholism and drug abuse proved to be true after Pakistani Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel released his medical report, which revealed high levels of alcohol consumption and unstable mental health.
Tilak Devasher, a member of India’s National Security Advisory Board, had predicted the poor condition of Imran Khan’s mental health to ANI in an exclusive interview. Devasher believed that Khan was facing withdrawal symptoms due to the significant decrease in his access to drugs and alcohol.
Following the release of the medical report, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced that they will be taking legal action against Minister Abdul Qadir Patel and his staff. During the press conference, the minister informed that there was no information about the Prime Minister’s reported fracture in his leg back in November. He also shared that Khan’s urine sample revealed the presence of drugs and excessive alcohol consumption.
Apart from the medical report, Devasher mentioned the reasons for Imran Khan’s significant popularity in Pakistan. According to the security expert, his presence among the middle-class and lower-middle-class population, combined with strong youth support, mass social media presence, and even his ability to speak false statements that were taken at face value by his followers, made him highly popular.
Tilak Devasher has served on India’s National Security Advisory Board for many years and is a renowned security expert. He is well-accredited for his work concerning South Asia’s political environment and security matters.
Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan had served as the 22nd Prime Minister of the country from 2018 to 2020. He was popular among the youth population for his social initiatives and progressive policies. Following his release from a Lahore jail in 2020, Imran Khan stepped down for his Prime Ministerial post and the country’s current Prime Minister, Imran Khan, assumed office.
