The Assam Rifles is a paramilitaryforce of the Indian Army and is known for their work in providing humanitarian aid and charitable causes. On Friday, the 12 Assam Rifles stationed in Mokokchung conducted a blood donation camp at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital. Local heads and committee members participated in the campaign and gave thanks to the AssamRifles for their noble efforts.
The camp saw both Assam Rifles personnel and civil donors donating blood units to help supply rare blood groups in case of any emergency. Apart from the camp, Assam Rifles also donated food items, stationery and blankets to the orphan home in Chungtia village on May 25 as part of World Environment Day.
The commanding officer of No. 2 training battalion from Assam Rifles Training Centre & School also visited the orphanage and gifted essential items such as books, clothes and utensils. The team also held an interactive session with the children. Assam Rifles is committed to contributing their services towards the wellbeing of society for further development and progress.
