The Kotwali police of Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, ecently apprehended a car carrying a large amount of liquor worth more than 40,000 rupees, with two adults and a minor boy inside. The car was observed travelling from Bhopal to Bangali Colony located in Narmadapuram.
The police performed a search of the car and found 13 cartons of foreign liquor hidden away in the dickey. In addition, two adults aged 23 and 27, Chandramohan Vishwakarma and Sunit Jatav, respectively, as well as a minor boy were found in the vehicle. All three were subsequently arrested.
The two adults were proven to be residents of Bagmugaliya, Bhopal, and Bangali Colony, Narmadapuram respectively, while the minor boy’s whereabouts couldn’t be determined.
This incident is another reminder of the issue of liquor consumption, especially to a minor, being a problem in the state. Regular patrolling and random checks by the police are the only way to help reduce such activities.
The Narmadapuram Kotwali police have raised awareness about the importance of keeping public spaces free from illegal activities, and sending out a strong message to all criminal elements that their activities will not be tolerated. People have been encouraged to increasingly report any suspicious activities that may be taking place in their area.
