Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who severed ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last year, has the option to return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at any time, according to Union Minister Ramdas Athawale. In a conversation with PTI, Athawale noted that Kumar was previously part of the NDA and was even appointed as Chief Minister despite the BJP securing more seats in the Bihar assembly elections. Athawale further criticized the opposition’s INDIA alliance, suggesting that their primary objective was to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power.
It seems that Nitish Kumar’s potential return to the NDA is the topic of discussion in the political realm. Despite the previous dissolution of their alliance, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale believes that Kumar is welcome to rejoin the NDA whenever he chooses. Kumar’s association with the NDA in the past and his previous appointment as Chief Minister despite the BJP’s superior performance in Bihar’s assembly elections lend credibility to Athawale’s statement.
It is worth noting that Athawale also took the opportunity to critique the INDIA alliance, an opposition coalition. According to Athawale, their main agenda is to dethrone Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While providing this perspective, the minister implied that Kumar’s potential return to the NDA would be a significant move, contrasting with the opposition’s mission to remove Modi from power.
The possibility of Nitish Kumar rejoining the NDA adds intrigue to Bihar’s political landscape. It remains to be seen whether Kumar will indeed make a return, and if so, how it will impact the existing political dynamics. As we await further developments, it is evident that political alliances and maneuvers will continue to shape Bihar’s future.
