Badrinath National Highway in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District Faces Severe Damage Due to Heavy Rainfall
A significant portion of the Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district has been washed away, resulting in major disruptions for motorists. Chamoli Police reported that approximately 50 meters of the highway have been affected by the incessant rainfall.

The worst-hit area is near Nandaprayag and Pursari on the Badrinath National Highway, where debris has blocked the road. This incident follows another recent setback when a 70-meter stretch of the National Highway near Gauchar town in Chamoli district was damaged due to heavy rainfall. The National Highway near Gauchar, Kameda was blocked due to a breach spanning about 70 meters of the road. The concerned departments and executive bodies are working tirelessly to restore normal traffic movement on the road as quickly as possible, stated an official familiar with the matter.
