Tata Motors has recently unveiled the facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Tata Safari. The new Safari promises to offer an enhanced driving experience with premium interiors, increased power, and a range of new features. Production of the facelifted Safari and its sibling, the Harrier, is set to begin soon.
One of the standout features of the new Tata Safari is its premium interior design. The lower dashboard now features leatherette cladding with stitching, giving it a luxurious feel. However, it would have been even better if Tata had extended this premium touch to the upper dashboard as well. The overall dashboard layout remains similar to the current model, but it now includes new central air vents and HVAC controls.
The middle panel of the facelifted Safari has a glossy finish with a carbon fiber effect. It also houses touch-sensitive buttons and metallic toggles, adding a touch of sophistication. Above the middle panel, there is a brand new infotainment screen, which appears to be slightly larger than the 10.25-inch unit found in the Red Dark Edition of the SUV. It is believed that the new screen could be around 12 inches in size. Additionally, the instrument screen now appears as a single-piece unit, giving it a more upscale appearance compared to the current triple-screen setup.
In terms of the steering wheel, Tata has redesigned it to align with the company’s latest design language. The new steering wheel features toggles for audio and cruise control. The center of the steering wheel likely includes an illuminated Tata logo, adding a touch of elegance. Previous spy shots of the Safari facelift revealed Tri-Arrow perforations on the door pad, further enhancing the premium feel of the interior.
Moving to the center console, the layout remains similar to the current model. However, the gear selector has been redesigned to be smaller and more sophisticated. There is also a larger dial ahead of the gear selector, possibly used for selecting different ESP (Electronic Stability Program) modes and potentially even different AWD (All-Wheel Drive) modes. It is expected that Tata has made improvements to the rear seat entertainment and ventilation systems as well, enhancing the comfort of passengers.
Under the hood, the Tata Safari facelift is rumored to come with Tata’s new 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, generating 170 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a new DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) gearbox. The 2.0-liter Stellantis-sourced diesel engine is expected to remain unchanged, delivering 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It will be available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter.
Overall, the facelifted Tata Safari promises to be a strong contender in its segment, offering a premium interior, enhanced power, and a host of new features. With production set to begin in the upcoming weeks, fans of the Safari can look forward to experiencing the updated SUV on the roads soon.
