The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has received an impressive turnout for the IET India Scholarship Award: with over 20,000 applications pouring in from all AICTE, UGC approved engineering institutes across the country, the registration deadline of 3rd June 2023 is fast approaching. The scholarship awards a combined prize money of Rs 10 lakh to recognize and reward exceptional talent and innovative ideas among India’s undergraduate engineering students. Eligible student must register themselves on the official IET website.
The selection process comprises of four rounds. In the first round, scholars are evaluated based on their academic performance and involvement in curricular activities. The next round involves an online test on STEM subjects as well as technical proficiency. The succeeding rounds necessitate the production of a technical solution to address a pertinent societal problem and the exhibiting of the project to the judging committee. The final stage is a showdown among the regional finalists for the national title.
Previous recipients of the scholarship have soon flourished in impressive roles such as Apple, Boeing, Deloitte, MIT and even business of their own.
Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head of IET India expressed his delight of having more than 20,000 applications and to witness the enthusiasm from the engineering student community. The Director and Country Head of IET India, Shekhar Sanyal’s career as an engineer and leader spanning three decades spans work in a number of leading industrial, educational and service organizations in India and abroad. He joined IET India in 2011 and his work engaging and developing the engineering community in India has been instrumental in driving IET India’s influence.
