On May 21, XG made their debut on the big stage at 88rising’s “Head In The Clouds” Festival at the Forest Hills Stadium in New York City. The music and art festival, affectionately known as HITC, has been taking the U.S. by storm since its 2018 launch in Los Angeles, Jakarta, and Manila. Joining iconic names like ITZY, Rich Brian, NIKI and MILLI, XG surpassed expectations with their electrifying performance.
Following a captivating CGI introduction, the crowd welcomed XG with an eruption of applause. Known for their flair and buoyant energy, XG electrified the audience with a medley of Tippy Toes and MASCARA. In between vocal numbers, the group expressed their gratitude to the crowd, saying, “It is an honor to have our first performance in America at HITC. We have been dreaming of this day for a long time and are truly thankful for the amazing turnout.”
The energy continued to skyrocket as XG performed two unreleased songs – ‘Two Tens’ by HARVEYMAYA and ‘Nothin’ by JURINCOCONA. The songs had recently been making waves on social media and had the crowds entranced. Chisa Juria and Hinata took the stage to deliver a breathtaking rendition of Justin Bieber’s hit single ‘Peaches ft. Daniel Caesar, Giveon’, which they renamed ‘XG VOX #1 Peaches’. They then rounded off their set with their 3rd single ‘LEFT RIGHT’ and ‘SHOOTING STAR’. This fully engaged crowd of 15,000 attendees gave XG a standing ovation.
Just a week before their New York show, XG had made their Japanese debut at the world’s largest K-Culture festival, “KCON JAPAN 2023”. XG, comprised of seven hip-hop and R&B girls – JURIN, CHISA, HARVEY, HINATA, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA, will soon be making their official debut as the first artists from XGALX.
