Congratulating the performance of girls in the recently declared Class 10 examination results by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that it is indeed a ‘daughters’ era’ as girls have made the entire State proud with their outstanding achievements.
Gagandeep Kaur and Navjot, studying at Sant Mohan Das Senior Secondary School in Kot Sukhiyan Faridkot, have clinched the first and second positions respectively, with 650 and 648 marks respectively. Other students who have shown exceptional academic performance include Harmandeep Kaur of Government High School in Mandali in Mansa district, who grabbed the third position with 646 marks.
The Punjab Government has made immense efforts to promote quality education throughout the State, which is clearly being reflected in the excellent performance of its students. As per records, 290,796 students had participated in the exam and out of these, 2,81,905 have passed, with 6,171 being required to reappear. Bhagwant Mann has promised that these meritorious students, primarily the girls, will be felicitated with a cash award of 51,000 rupees soon.
Not only in the Class 10 examination, girls have outperformed boys in Class 8 and Class 12 examinations as well, signifying their enthusiasm and dedication towards their studies. Mann showered praise on students, their parents and teachers for such an outstanding feat. Mentioning it as a golden day for the State, he further extended his best wishes to the students for future endeavors.
