The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has declared its class 12th board examination results today, indicating a 91.25 per cent pass rate overall. Science students have scored the highest at 96.09%, followed by commerce students at 90.42%, vocational students at 89.25%, and humanities students at 84.05%. A total of 3,31,161 students in the Mumbai division took the exams, out of which 3,21,337 wrote the exam and 2,90,258 passed, resulting in an 88.13% pass rate.
The MSBSHSE board exam was conducted from February 21 to March 21, 2023, with nearly 14 lakh students appearing for the exam. Despite an overall slight dip in the pass rate compared to 94.22% last year, the results are commendable and encouraging.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is the governing body that presides over the board exams for the state of Maharashtra. It is also responsible for devising the curriculum for state schools, as well as recognizing and appointing educational institutions across the state.
The board is led by Chairman Dr. Sita Ratnaparkhi, a highly experienced professor and academician. She has held previous positions such as the chairperson of the Mathematics Education Centre at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), director of the State Institute of Education Research and Training in Pune, and principal of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School. She has been actively involved in the board examination process, leading the organization to greater strides and setting higher standards in the state.
