Lenovo India recently announced that it registered a total revenue of $1.9 billion within the financial year of 2022-2023. After the industry and global crisis, Lenovo is noticing a growth in the market and is expecting the PC and smart devices market to increase in the second half of 2023. Shailendra Katyal, the Managing Director of Lenovo India, shared that they helped this growth by investing in the training of local talents and expanding their India-manufactured products to a number of 5 million.
Additionally, the non-PC businesses have become the fiscal year’s highest revenue source, being mainly fueled by the Solutions and Services Group (SSG) and Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG). While the PC segment is temporarily declining, the company stated that they are still investing in research and development to be prepared for the future.
Lenovo is a Chinese multinational technology company, founded in 1984 by Liu Chuanzhi with a group of ten engineers. Its production line includes consumer electronics, laptops, smartphones, tablet computers and smart TV. Now, the company operates in more than 160 countries and they own the largest PC maker market share worldwide.
Shailendra Katyal is the Managing Director of Lenovo India, and he previously worked as the country manager for Samsung in India for almost 18 years. During his leadership, he helped to transform Samsung from being a brand in India to a house-hold name. He joined Lenovo India in 2019 and since then has been taking great decisions that has helped the company to become a powerhouse in the market.
