Striker Paul Mullin Suffers Injury in Collision with Manchester United Goalie During Friendly Match
Welsh club Wrexham’s striker, Paul Mullin, was involved in a collision with Manchester United’s goalie, Nathan Bishop, during a friendly match held on Tuesday night. The incident occurred just outside the box in the 11th minute, leaving Mullin injured and in need of assistance to leave the field.
Medical personnel immediately rushed to Mullin’s aid, and a stretcher and cart were dispatched. After approximately seven minutes, Mullin managed to get back on his feet, albeit slowly, with the help of the support staff. At present, no specific details have been released regarding the extent or nature of his injury.
In contrast, Bishop emerged from the collision unharmed. However, as a result of the incident, he faced audible disapproval from the crowd each time he interacted with the ball throughout the remainder of the match.
The game took place at Snapdragon Stadium, situated at San Diego State, as part of Wrexham’s U.S. tour. The Welsh club is currently owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who were both in attendance at the match. Wrexham enthusiasts often sing a song dedicated to their star player, known as Super Paul Mullin.
As the oldest club in Wales, Wrexham recently secured a promotion to the fourth tier of English soccer. Their visit to the United States offers an exciting opportunity for them to engage with their fans across the Atlantic.
