Greek company Signal Group has joined forces with German venture studio Flagship Founders to collaborate on developing technology startups for the maritime industry. Signal, headed by Ioannis Martinos, will acquire a stake in Berlin-based Flagship Founders and provide data and APIs from its Signal Ocean platform to expedite the creation of new ventures. The partnership, which includes a total investment volume of €2.5m ($2.77m), complements Flagship Founders’ recent funding round of €3.5m. Signal Ventures, the investment arm of Signal, has previously supported 15 startups in the shipping, supply chain, and commodities sectors. The collaboration aims to advance venture building for maritime technology startups globally.
