Gram Panchayat Devguradia in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has unveiled a 13ft ‘Abhivan Idol’ to honor the brave soldiers who fought for the country. The statue, made from metal scrap, serves as a meaningful reminder for the younger generation to respect the soldiers and their dedication. The idol, which took six months to create, stands tall at 13 feet and weighs 400 kg. It features a soldier proudly holding the Indian national flag.
The inauguration of the memorial will be conducted by Air Marshal (retired) Harish Masand (Vir Chakra, Vayu Sena Medal). Soldiers and officers who participated in the Kargil war will also be present at the event. The special guests include MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, and former IDA president Madhu Verma. Several retired Indian Army personnel, including Colonel Harsh Kaul (Shaurya Chakra awardee), Colonel Balveer Gil, Subedar Major, and retired honorary Captain Himayat Tulla Khan, have been specially invited to the ceremony.
The real estate group, Kalindi Gandhi Group, played a crucial role in designing, constructing, and developing the memorial complex. The support and active participation of the Devguradia Panchayat office bearers and local resident organizations have been commendable.
