Hong Kong actor Philip Keung recently played host to TVB stars Owen Cheung and Joel Chan in Penang, Malaysia. As Keung owns property in the city, he took the opportunity to show his friends around and treat them to some delicious Nyonya cuisine.

In a Facebook post, Keung shared two pictures of the trio and expressed his determination to ensure that his guests had a wonderful time during their visit. Fans were quick to commend Keung, jokingly referring to him as a qualified tour guide for Penang.

Joel Chan, who recently won TVB’s Best Actor award for his exceptional performance in the supernatural drama Barrack O’Karma 1968, joined Owen Cheung at Queensbay Mall for a promotional event. The duo was promoting TVB’s latest Asian entertainment channel, TVB Magic, and even held a meet the fans session.

Chan revealed that he planned to indulge in Nyonya delicacies later that evening with friends and would follow it up with a refreshing jog along the beach the next morning.

This visit was not Keung’s first encounter with Penang’s cultural treasures. In 2017, he purchased property in Penang for his wife. Earlier this year, the couple spent their Chinese New Year in the city, documenting their food adventures and travel experiences in a vlog.

In another entertainment news piece from Taiwan, Cantopop star Eason Chan celebrated an emotional birthday surprise during a concert. Thousands of his fans participated in a card stunt, holding up colored paper squares to create a giant image spelling out Happy Birthday.

Upon seeing the heartfelt gesture, Chan became overwhelmed with emotion and dropped to his knees, expressing his gratitude to the crowd. The concert was part of his ongoing Fear and Dreams World Tour and took place at the Taipei Arena.

A card stunt involves coordinated actions by the audience, with each colored paper serving as a pixel to form a multicolored image. This display of appreciation moved Chan deeply, as he turns 49 on July 27.

Both of these stories highlight the warm reception and recognition that these talented stars receive outside their home territories, solidifying their international appeal.

Overall, it seems that Keung, Cheung, and Chan had a memorable time in Penang, enjoying the local cuisine, promotional events, and the warmth of their fans. As their international popularity continues to grow, their journeys will undoubtedly be watched eagerly by fans around the world.
