CNN’s Scott Jennings Calls Out Kamala Harris for Spreading False Information about Florida’s Education Reforms
Vice President Kamala Harris faced heavy criticism from CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings for spreading false information about Florida’s education reforms. During a recent visit to Jacksonville, Harris claimed that Florida was teaching that slavery had positive aspects and benefits for those enslaved, which Jennings vehemently refuted.
Jennings expressed his outrage at Harris’s irresponsible statements, suggesting that she had little else to do but jump on baseless claims. He challenged Harris’s assertions, stating that he had thoroughly examined the educational standards and even read the analysis by African American scholars who contributed to crafting those standards.
Referencing an analysis by Charles C.W. Cooke, published in National Review, Jennings emphasized that every reference to slavery, slaves, abolitionism, civil rights, and African Americans in the Florida educational curriculum demonstrated Harris’s claims to be false. Cooke’s article labeled Harris’s statement as an evil lie.
Jennings concluded his criticism by questioning the Vice President’s priorities, pointing out that fabricating a matter seemed to be her best moment. He highlighted the consensus among those involved that this was a fabricated issue, making Harris’s quick embrace of it even more ridiculous.
