One more person has been arrested in connection with the viral video case in Manipur, bringing the total number of arrests to six, including five main accused and one juvenile, according to police sources. The arrest was made on Saturday, and the State Police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining culprits by conducting raids at suspected hideouts.
The Police Control Room confirmed that another accused was arrested on Saturday for their involvement in the viral video that circulated on May 4, 2023. This latest arrest has brought the total number of individuals arrested in the case to six, consisting of five main accused and one juvenile.
To ensure the safety of the public, the State Police, along with Central forces, conducted search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas across both valley and hill districts. A total of 125 checkpoints were established in various districts of Manipur, and as a result, the police detained 396 individuals in relation to violations in different parts of the state.
In terms of transportation, 839 vehicles carrying essential items were able to travel on NH-37, while 215 vehicles took NH-2. The police have implemented strict security measures in vulnerable locations and provided security convoys for sensitive stretches of road to guarantee the free and safe movement of vehicles.
