Three passengers lost their lives and two more are in critical condition after a concrete lorry crashed into a government bus in Andhra Pradesh. The tragic incident took place in the Annamayya district on Saturday. The bus, owned by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), was traveling from Tirupati to Kadapa when the accident occurred on a national highway maintained by the state government.
According to R Gangadhara Rao, the superintendent of police in Annamayya district, the collision happened when the concrete lorry made a sharp turn from left to right and collided with the bus. Although the bus managed to avoid a head-on collision, the lorry also turned in the same direction and struck the bus in the middle. As a result of the crash, the front seats of the bus were severely damaged, leading to the unfortunate deaths of three passengers. Two other individuals are currently in critical condition. Numerous other passengers sustained injuries in the accident.
The lorry driver suffered leg fractures and is currently receiving medical treatment. The police are investigating whether the driver was driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
