Businessman and Bodyguard Shot Dead in Firing Incident in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur
Two individuals, a businessman and his bodyguard, were killed, and three others were injured in a shooting incident in Muzaffarpur, Bihar on Friday. The incident took place when unidentified miscreants opened fire, leaving two dead and three injured. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment for their wounds. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar, the four assailants arrived at the scene on two motorcycles.
While the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, the police believe that the motive behind the firing might be related to a property dispute. Muzaffarpur Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Singh stated that the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be determined. He also mentioned that the involvement of two culprits has been confirmed so far, but there could be a total of four individuals involved in the crime.
One of the deceased individuals was identified as Ashutosh Shahi, a prominent businessman and property dealer in the district. Tragically, his personal bodyguard also lost his life during the shootout. Among the injured victims is Syed Qasim Hasan alias Dollar, who served as a bodyguard and advocate for Shahi. Hasan’s condition is currently critical, and he is receiving treatment at Janaki Hospital.
Upon receiving information about the incident, SSP Rakesh Kumar and SP (City) Arvind Kumar Singh immediately rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation into the matter. The police revealed that Ashutosh Shahi was involved in prime estate dealings and had previously received threats from the Shambhu-Mantu gang. Additionally, Shahi had been nominated in the last Bihar assembly elections but was unable to contest as his nomination was deemed invalid.
This unfortunate incident highlights the prevalence of violence and crime in the region. The authorities must work diligently to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous act.
