Police Officer Assaulted by Seun Kuti Promoted to ASP
Mohammed Aminu, the police officer who was assaulted by Nigerian Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). This comes after a video of Kuti assaulting Aminu went viral in May.

Inspector Mohammed Aminu, who gained attention on social media for being assaulted by Seun Kuti while in uniform, has been promoted to ASP I, Ani said.
During the commission’s 21st plenary meeting, two Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) were appointed, and the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, was promoted to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Additionally, the commission confirmed the promotion of 9,016 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) and approved the promotion of 14,052 inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police.
