Nearby Share for Windows is now available for all users, as Google has officially released the app after months of testing. This AirDrop alternative allows for seamless file transfer between Windows and Android devices using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or NFC. Whether you want to transfer files, documents, or multimedia content, Nearby Share makes it easy and convenient.

To get started, there are a few pre-requisites you need to consider. First, ensure that you have the Nearby Share app installed on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 device. Additionally, your Android device should be running version 6 or newer. With these requirements met, you can proceed to download Nearby Share on Windows.

Visit the Google Nearby Share for Windows website (https://android.com/better-together/nearby-share-app/) to download and install the app. When prompted, grant the app the necessary permissions.

After downloading the app, you have the option to sign in or use it without an account. While it is possible to share files without a Google account, this limits the functionality, and you will need to keep the visibility set to Everyone. It’s important to note that this may pose a potential risk.

To transfer files from your PC to your phone, open the Nearby Share app on your PC. Select the file you want to share and wait for the app to detect the receiving device. Once detected, simply click on it to initiate the file transfer. If you prefer, you can also drag and drop files or even transfer entire folders at once.

On the other hand, if you want to transfer files from your phone to your PC, select the file or files you wish to share and tap on the Share button. From the options available, choose Nearby Share and select your PC as the destination for the file transfer.

With Nearby Share for Windows, you can now enjoy seamless file transfer between your Windows and Android devices. Whether you want to share documents, multimedia content, or any other files, this app provides a convenient solution. Download the app today and start experiencing hassle-free file transfer.
