Title: Humans In Space Challenge Seeks Innovators to Pave the Way for Life Beyond Earth

The Humans In Space Challenge, hosted by Boryung Corp., Axiom Space, and Aurelia Institute, is calling upon startups and researchers from around the globe to push the boundaries of human life beyond Earth. Following the success of last year’s Care In Space Challenge, this exceptional competition offers an array of benefits that aim to catalyze groundbreaking advancements in space exploration and utilization.

Applications for the Humans In Space Challenge are now open until July 28, 11:59 PM US ET. This presents a unique opportunity for early-stage startups and researchers who are passionate about transforming human life in space to showcase their visionary ideas and be part of an extraordinary journey.

Selected startups will receive $100,000 in equity investment, allowing them to further develop and expand their pioneering projects. Additionally, researchers will be granted $30,000 in awards to support their cutting-edge research initiatives. Eligible startups will also have access to Axiom Space’s startup credits, totaling half a million dollars, to send their experiments on future Axiom missions. Moreover, selected teams will benefit from $15,000 credits from Amazon Web Services.

One of the standout features of this challenge is the opportunity for participants to engage with influential figures from the space industry. Esteemed individuals from renowned organizations such as NASA, ESA, Harvard, and MIT will provide guidance and support through workshops and a tailored mentorship program. Accelerator programs, backed by space agencies, research institutions, and investment groups, will expedite access to valuable resources, assisting in research, business model development, and attracting investments. Consulting support will also be available to help teams secure government grants, while ample networking opportunities with leading global space development companies will facilitate invaluable connections and collaborations.

The Humans In Space collaborative network consists of 33 esteemed institutions and a panel of 30 distinguished judges from diverse sectors, including government space agencies, medical research and development, prestigious universities, and prominent investment groups. This extensive network ensures a thorough evaluation process, encompassing a diverse range of expertise.

Boryung Corp., Axiom Space, and Aurelia Institute will leverage their profound knowledge and extensive expertise to broaden the scope of the challenge beyond the Care In Space Challenge of last year. The two critical domains this year’s challenge focuses on are Space Exploration and Space Utilization. While Aurelia Institute leads the exploration of human lifestyle in space, seeking solutions that enhance the quality of life for astronauts, Axiom Space, renowned for developing the world’s leading commercial space station, spearheads the innovation of space habitats and the potential of space environment to address Earth-based life science and healthcare challenges.

The 2023 HIS Challenge, which opened in late May, is approaching its application deadline on July 28th (11:59 US ET). Interested participants are urged to submit their visionary ideas promptly to avoid technical difficulties caused by a high volume of submissions towards the end of the application period. In August, a select group of semi-finalists will be chosen to present their proposals at a virtual pitch event in September.

Following the initial stages, the finalists will have the opportunity to participate in the Space Expansion Program, a series of mentorships and workshops led by leaders and pioneers in the space industry. They will also have the privilege of presenting their ideas once more at the prestigious Humans In Space Symposium in late October. This symposium serves as a platform for finalists to showcase their innovations in front of prominent figures in the space industry. The winners of the challenge will be announced during this momentous occasion, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward shaping the future of space exploration.

If you are a researcher or startup aligned with Boryung’s vision for interplanetary humanity, grasp this opportunity to pitch your groundbreaking solutions and play a pivotal role in defining the future of humanity in space. Act now to contribute to the transformative journey that lies ahead.
