The selected candidate will work with veterans and their families from diverse backgrounds, using counseling skills to assess their psychosocial functioning and needs. They will develop and implement treatment plans, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide support, problem-solving, and crisis intervention techniques.
Effective communication and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, staff, and community agencies are essential. Knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures is also required.
