Himachal CM Sukhu Conducts Aerial Survey of Flood-Affected Kinnaur District in India

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Kinnaur district. He also visited the district to meet those affected by the flood. The Chief Minister tweeted about his visit, stating that ensuring everyone’s safety is their utmost concern. The government is working tirelessly to rescue and provide relief measures for the stranded individuals.

In addition to his visit to Kinnaur, CM Sukhu also visited the flood-hit Thunag Sub-division in the Seraj constituency of Mandi district. He inspected the situation at the severely affected Thunag market and announced a monetary aid of Rs 1 lakh for each affected family. He also directed the channelization of the Thunag rivulet to prevent similar mishaps in the future. The Chief Minister assured locals of all possible assistance from the government.

According to the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA), a total of 91 people have lost their lives in the state due to landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods since the beginning of the monsoon season on June 24. The HPSDMA stated that 34 deaths occurred as a result of these natural disasters.

CM Sukhu’s visit to the flood-affected areas highlights the government’s commitment to providing aid and support to the affected population. The Chief Minister’s announcements of financial assistance and efforts to prevent future incidents demonstrate the government’s proactive approach to dealing with natural calamities.
