In a six-day exhibition and sale named Kruti Weavez and Krafts, weavers and artisans from across India showcased their talent and craftsmanship in Vizag city, Andhra Pradesh. The exhibition, held at the Gateway Hotel on beach road, aimed to provide a platform for homegrown brands and promote direct interaction between customers and artisans.
The Weavez and Krafts exhibition was inaugurated by Mayor G Hari Venkata Kumari, along with the general manager of District Industries Center (DIC), Visakhapatnam, Ch Ganapathi, and the deputy director of Khadi Village Industries Board, Padmaja. The event featured a wide range of handcrafted products and traditional accessories, highlighting the diversity and richness of Indian artistry.
According to the organizer, Srilatha, the exhibition aimed to eliminate mediators and enable customers to directly access products from the weavers and artisans. Various silk saree weavers, handloom clusters, and silk cooperative societies from Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar participated in the event.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore and purchase a variety of exquisite silk sarees, including Arini silk from Karnataka, Gadwal silk from Telangana, Uppada silk from Andhra Pradesh, and Banarasi silk from Uttar Pradesh. The collection also featured Kantha silk from West Bengal, Kota silk from Rajasthan, Chenderi silk from Madhya Pradesh, Ikat silk from Odisha, Chinon silk sarees from Jammu and Kashmir, Paithani silk from Maharashtra, Kosa silk from Chhattisgarh, Tussar silk from Bihar, as well as Handloom Silk Cotton, Silk Blends, Stoles, Shawls, Fabrics, and Furnishings from different regions of India.
