KB Financial Group has selected 10 promising startups for its KB Starters program, which aims to support small innovative firms in expanding into the global market. The chosen companies will have the opportunity to visit KB’s fintech lab in Singapore and receive consulting services to aid in their global expansion.
The 10 startups come from various sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, and environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG). Among them are H2O Hospitality, a hotel management solution provider, and SentBe, a money transfer service operator. This year, KB expanded the number of winners from four to 10 in response to the growing desire of local startups for overseas expansion.
To select the startups, KB conducted document screenings and face-to-face interviews during the month of June. Factors such as growth potential and understanding of overseas markets were taken into consideration. The selected startups will also have access to investment-related consulting services through KB’s financial affiliates in Southeast Asia. They will also receive support from Tenity, a Singapore-based startup incubator, to ensure their proper localization.
KB Financial Group aims to promote more international exchanges for local startups and plans to continue supporting them in becoming unicorn companies.
