Motorist Fatally Injured in Tragic Accident on Chennai’s Kathipara Flyover
Tragedy struck on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, as a 52-year-old motorist lost his life after falling off his bike on Chennai’s Kathipara flyover in Guindy. The victim, identified as P. Balamurugan from West Saidapet, suffered fatal head injuries and sadly passed away despite receiving medical treatment.
According to a senior official from the City Police, Balamurugan was returning home on his two-wheeler after completing some errands that morning. While on the Kathipara flyover, he unexpectedly lost control of his vehicle and toppled over. The fall resulted in severe injuries to the back of his head, prompting bystanders to immediately call for an ambulance. Balamurugan was rushed to the Saidapet Corporation Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Tragically, his injuries proved too severe, and he succumbed to them during the night, unable to respond to medical interventions.
Following the completion of the post-mortem examination, the police handed over Balamurugan’s body to his grieving relatives. The Mount Traffic Investigation police have initiated a case and are currently investigating the incident to gather more details.
