Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, announced that preparations for the upcoming general election have commenced and the distribution of tickets will begin soon. He made this statement during a worker’s convention in Sialkot, where several prominent political figures were present. Asif also mentioned that the assemblies would be dissolved once their tenure is completed.

According to Asif, the political parties under the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will work together to bring forward a common candidate or make seat adjustments for the general election. He emphasized that the distribution of tickets and seat adjustments will start in the near future.

During his address, Asif highlighted the importance of voters and their role as the source of power for political activists and leaders. He criticized the behavior of Imran Khan, the former prime minister and chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that his disagreement with his party members led to the dissolution of the KP and Punjab assemblies. Asif also accused Khan of making a plan to attack the army, which he claimed was an unprecedented and dark day in the history of the country.

The defense minister criticized the PTI further, accusing them of attacking martyrs’ memorials and endangering the lives of law enforcement personnel. Asif emphasized that the nation stands behind the defense institutions and anyone who challenges them will have to face the consequences.

Regarding the PDM-led government, Asif mentioned that they faced difficult circumstances when they came into power. He explained that dissolving the assemblies immediately after gaining power would have deepened the economic crisis and led to a default on the country’s financial obligations. Asif claimed that their efforts over the past 14 months have saved the country from default and that it is gradually improving.

Asif also criticized those who fled the country, referring to them as absconders. He accused them of attending meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while thousands of rupees were being stolen through electricity, gas, and tax theft. He claimed that if this theft had continued, the country would have never achieved economic stability.

In summary, Khawaja Muhammad Asif addressed a worker’s convention in Sialkot and announced the commencement of preparations for the general election. He emphasized that the assemblies would be dissolved after completing their tenure. Asif also criticized the PTI and its chief, Imran Khan, for their decisions and actions, particularly regarding the army. He praised the PDM-led government for saving the country from default and criticized those who fled the country while economic theft persisted.
