Kyrgyzstan and the aircraft manufacturer Airbus are poised to strengthen their bilateral cooperation in aviation. A meeting between the Kyrgyz Ambassador to France, Sadyk Cher-Niyaz, and Jacques Garigue, Airbus International’s Vice President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, was held in Paris to discuss potential collaboration opportunities.

During the meeting, Cher-Niyaz expressed satisfaction with the existing partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Airbus, highlighting their successful experience with previously acquired helicopters. He also proposed expanding the cooperation by purchasing medium-class aircraft for flights in the country’s mountainous regions. Additionally, he suggested utilizing Airbus’ space satellite capabilities to monitor border areas, alter the courses of mountain rivers, and optimize agricultural land use in Kyrgyzstan.

In response, Garigue apprised the ambassador of Manas Airlines’ use of the A220 aircraft and expressed Airbus’s openness to considering the ambassador’s proposal. He specifically mentioned the provision of the ATR-72 aircraft, equipped with turboprops and capable of carrying up to 90 passengers, for short distance flights within Kyrgyzstan. The participants also addressed mechanisms and potential financing options for satellite usage.

The meeting concluded with both parties affirming their readiness to continue collaborating on expanding aviation cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and France. They also discussed Airbus’s engagement with other Central Asian countries in the region.

This development opens up possibilities for Kyrgyzstan to enhance its domestic flights with the acquisition of Airbus aircraft, ensuring safer and more efficient travel within the country. The utilization of Airbus’ satellite technology may enable more effective border monitoring, environmental management, and agricultural planning.

By capitalizing on France’s expertise in aircraft manufacturing and Airbus’ offerings, Kyrgyzstan aims to further develop its aviation sector and strengthen its transportation infrastructure. The collaboration between the two nations represents a significant step forward in bilateral relations in the field of aviation.

As plans progress, both parties will continue to explore various avenues of cooperation, taking into account the specific needs and requirements of Kyrgyzstan. This partnership not only benefits Kyrgyzstan but also contributes to the broader development and connectivity within the Central Asian region.

The potential acquisition of Airbus aircraft for domestic flights in Kyrgyzstan is a promising prospect. The introduction of modern, reliable, and fuel-efficient aircraft will enhance the country’s air transportation capabilities, facilitating connectivity and economic growth. Additionally, the use of Airbus’ satellite technology for monitoring and managing various aspects of Kyrgyzstan’s territory showcases the growing synergy between aviation and advanced technology.

As Kyrgyzstan expands its collaboration with Airbus, it signals the country’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships and technological advancements to drive progress in the aviation sector. With Airbus’ support, Kyrgyzstan aims to provide its citizens with safe, reliable, and efficient air travel options while boosting its overall connectivity and economic development.

The meeting between Ambassador Cher-Niyaz and Vice President Garigue stands as a testament to the shared commitment and enthusiasm for fostering a strong and fruitful partnership between Kyrgyzstan and France in the aviation industry. As these efforts continue to evolve, the collaboration between the two nations is poised to result in positive outcomes for both countries and contribute to the advancement of the aviation sector in Central Asia.
