Buri Ram is set to host the OR Thailand MotoGP Grand Prix for the fourth time in October, according to organizers. The event, which is the 17th on the 20-race calendar, will be held at the Chang International Circuit. Last year, KTM’s Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira emerged as the victor in a race marred by adverse weather conditions.
The press conference announcing the upcoming event was chaired by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) governor Gongsak Yodmani and Buri Ram governor Chaiwat Chunthiraphong. Gongsak expressed his commitment to deliver a world-class MotoGP event, building on the success and experience gained from organizing the previous three races. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to rectify weaknesses and capitalize on strengths in order to consistently improve the Thai MotoGP each year.
Tanaisiri Chanwittayarom, the managing director of Chang International Circuit, emphasized the continuous improvements made to the racetrack. Motorsport enthusiasts can look forward to two days of thrilling action, beginning with the sprint race on Saturday and culminating in the main race on Sunday. Chanwittayarom assured fans that the organizers were fully dedicated to providing quality entertainment and activities throughout the three-day extravaganza. He encouraged motorsport enthusiasts to purchase tickets and join in the excitement from October 27 to 29.
Among the attendees at the press conference was Moto2 rider Somkiat Chantra of Idemitsu Honda Team Asia. Meanwhile, Ducati’s Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia currently leads the world championship standings with 194 points after eight rounds of the 2023 MotoGP season. Jorge Martin of Ducati-Pramac is in second place with 159 points, followed closely by Marco Bezzecchi of Ducati-VR46 with 158 points.
During the press conference, tickets for the three-day event officially went on sale worldwide. There are five price ranges available, with the Grand Stand tickets quickly selling out within three minutes of the launch. The other options include Marquez Stand tickets priced at 4,000 baht, Quartararo Stand tickets at 3,000 baht, Chantra Stand tickets also at 3,000 baht, and Side Stand tickets at a more affordable 2,000 baht.
In conclusion, the upcoming OR Thailand MotoGP Grand Prix promises to be an adrenaline-fueled spectacle for fans of motorsports. With experienced organizers, constant improvements to the Chang International Circuit, and the participation of top riders, the event is poised to exceed expectations.
