Bhopal: Mini Truck Collides With Sports Car, Miraculously No Fatalities
In a bizarre incident that took place on Atal Path Road in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) in the early hours of Monday, a mini truck collided with a sports car, causing the car to overturn three times. Miraculously, there were no fatalities, and the occupants of the car escaped unscathed.
According to the TT Nagar police station house officer, Chain Singh Raghuwanshi, the driver of the sports car, Sanjay Merotha (43), was accompanied by his daughter as they were headed to a swimming pool at 6:30 am. As they reached Platinum Plaza Square, a mini truck, speeding at a high velocity, crashed into their vehicle.
The impact was so intense that the sports car flipped over three times before landing back on its tires. Despite the airbags not deploying, Merotha and his daughter emerged from the wrecked car without any injuries. Fortunately, local residents quickly rushed to the scene and confirmed their safety.
Immediately following the collision, the truck driver fled the scene. However, the authorities were promptly informed and arrived to seize the truck. Merotha later filed a complaint, accompanied by a photo revealing the extent of damage to his car, as well as a copy of the First Information Report (FIR).
This extraordinary incident has sparked concerns regarding the functionality of the car’s airbags. Merotha has reached out to the vehicle’s manufacturer, underscoring the fact that the airbags failed to deploy during such a severe accident. The company is expected to initiate an investigation into the matter.
Authorities are also diligently working towards locating the absconding truck driver to hold him accountable for the collision. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused due to the truck’s high-speed recklessness.
