Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has recently launched a Monsoon Trekking program in an effort to attract more tourists and boost tourism in the state’s hinterland areas. 1. Sonsogor Trek: This trek takes you to the top of Sonsogor, one of the three highest peaks in Goa. It offers a breathtaking view and takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete.
2. Dudhsagar Trek: Dudhsagar, Goa’s most popular waterfall and the fifth tallest in India, is a sight to behold during the monsoon season. The trek takes you through the dense forests of the Western Ghats and promises awe-inspiring views.
3. Hiveram Trek: Hiveram Falls, a relatively unexplored part of Goa, offers a trek that includes steep slopes. It is recommended for trekkers with some experience, and the trail provides access to three waterfalls that can be covered in a single day.
4. Pali Waterfall Trek: This trek leads to another picturesque waterfall in Goa. Although the path may become slippery during monsoons, trekkers are undeterred by the challenge, as the journey takes them deep into Goa’s densest forest areas.
