Delivering a strong response to the recent actions of Governor RN Ravi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called the dismissal of Minister V Senthil Balaji from the Cabinet unconstitutional and invalid. Stalin criticized the Governor for suggesting a breakdown of Constitutional machinery and made it clear that the power to dismiss ministers lies solely with the elected chief minister.

While the Raj Bhavan had initially stated that the ‘dismissal’ order was on hold, the DMK regime remains determined to combat the move against Senthil Balaji, despite Ravi’s subsequent backtrack.

In a letter addressed to Ravi, Stalin reiterated that the Governor has no authority to dismiss ministers without the advice of the chief minister. He dismissed Ravi’s communication as void ab initio, stating that it goes against the law and has been disregarded by the government. Stalin pointed out that the aid or advice of the chief minister and the Cabinet was not sought before the two letters from Raj Bhavan were sent on June 29, one on dismissal and the other on suspending the order.

The ongoing tussle between the DMK government and the Governor continues to provoke a spirited fight from the DMK regime. Determined to uphold their constitutional authority, the CM and his party are considering an appropriate action plan to counter Ravi’s actions. While the ‘dismissal’ order may have been put on hold, the government intends to challenge the move and ensure that the constitutional boundaries are respected.

The controversy surrounding the dismissal of Senthil Balaji raises questions about the power dynamics between the elected government and the office of the Governor. The DMK government asserts that it is responsible for decisions regarding its ministers, and any attempt to undermine this authority is considered a breach of constitutional norms.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the DMK regime will navigate this challenge to its power. The Chief Minister’s response to the Governor’s actions demonstrates the government’s determination to defend its constitutional rights and maintain its control over ministerial appointments.

The ongoing dispute between the Governor and the DMK government highlights the importance of maintaining a delicate balance of power and upholding democratic principles. As the state grapples with this issue, it is crucial for all parties involved to respect the rule of law and ensure that constitutional mandates are upheld. Only through genuine collaboration and adherence to democratic principles can the state of Tamil Nadu truly thrive.

In conclusion, Chief Minister M K Stalin has firmly opposed Governor RN Ravi’s ‘dismissal’ of Minister V Senthil Balaji as unconstitutional and invalid. The DMK regime has vowed to fight against this move, asserting its authority and defending its power to appoint and dismiss ministers. The ongoing dispute serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting democratic principles and maintaining a balance of power within the state of Tamil Nadu.
