Thousands of Pilgrims Perform Stoning Ritual in Mina and Conclude Hajj with Tawaf Al-Wida

On the third day of Tashreeq, thousands of pilgrims gathered at the Jamarat Bridge in Mina to participate in the stoning ritual, known as ramy al-jamarat. This ritual marks the symbolic stoning of the devil and is an integral part of the Hajj pilgrimage. The pilgrims threw seven pebbles at Jamarat Al-Sugra, Jamrat Al-Wusta, and Jamrat Al-Aqaba, representing the devil’s attempt to dissuade Prophet Hazrat Abraham (AS) from sacrificing his son, Prophet Hazrat Ishmael (AS).

Amidst extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 47 Centigrade, Saudi security officials ensured the safety and well-being of the pilgrims by spraying water on them. The entire area was closely supervised by security forces, officials, and health workers to maintain a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

After completing the stoning ritual, the pilgrims returned to Makkah’s Grand Mosque to perform the Tawaf Al-Wida, also known as the farewell circumambulation of the Holy Kaaba. This mandatory ritual is performed before the pilgrims leave Makkah as part of the completion of their Hajj.

Following the conclusion of the Hajj, a considerable number of pilgrims will travel to Madinah to offer prayers at the Holy Prophet’s Mosque and visit various Islamic landmarks. The pilgrimage to Madinah holds great significance for Muslims, as it is the burial place of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and has historical and spiritual importance.

The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is an annual event that brings together Muslims from all over the world. It is a time of spiritual reflection, unity, and devotion, as Muslims fulfill their religious obligations and seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah Almighty.

As the pilgrims bid farewell to Makkah, it is a time of mixed emotions. On one hand, they feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment for completing the sacred rituals of Hajj, while on the other hand, there is a longing to stay in the sacred place and continue experiencing the spiritual atmosphere.

It is worth mentioning that the stoning ritual and the Tawaf Al-Wida signify the end of the Hajj pilgrimage, but the journey of faith and devotion continues as pilgrims return to their respective homes. The lessons learned and the spiritual experiences gained during Hajj serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for their daily lives.

The conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage also marks a time of reflection for the global Muslim community. It is an opportunity to promote unity, understanding, and compassion among people. The Hajj serves as a reminder of the universal values of Islam, which emphasize peace, love, and respect for one another.

In conclusion, the stoning ritual and the Tawaf Al-Wida are significant milestones in the Hajj pilgrimage. They symbolize the triumph of faith over temptation and the completion of a sacred journey. As the pilgrims conclude their Hajj, they carry with them the blessings and spiritual enlightenment attained during this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
