Security Measures Strengthened across Uttar Pradesh for Bakrid Festivities
In preparation for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) celebrations, security has been significantly enhanced across Uttar Pradesh. With the aim of ensuring a peaceful and harmonious festival, a total of 248 companies from various law enforcement agencies have been deployed, including the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Additionally, over 1.25 lakh police personnel have been stationed throughout the state.
To oversee the security measures, Uttar Pradesh Police Special Director General (SDG) of Law and Order, Prashant Kumar, stated that 238 PAC companies, seven CAPF companies, and three SDRF companies have been deployed across the state. The authorities have also increased the security presence at 33,340 mosques and Eidgahs, the places where prayers are held during the festival.
With the festival lasting four days in Mau district and three days in other parts of the state, a strategic deployment of civil police personnel has been implemented. More than 1.25 lakh officers have taken their positions to maintain peace and order. Additionally, approximately 4,800 police response vehicles, equipped with the UP 112 emergency service, have been deployed for round-the-clock patrolling.
Leading up to the festival, police officials organized 2,416 peace committee meetings at the police station and police circle levels. These meetings aimed to inform imams, clerics, and religious leaders about the festival’s guidelines. They were specifically instructed to conduct sacrifices in designated areas, at fixed and closed spots that have been traditionally used.
The police force is working diligently to prevent the sacrifice of prohibited animals and ensure the safety of all participants. Furthermore, they are committed to preventing any road obstructions or traffic disruptions during the festivities.
By conducting meetings and engaging with religious leaders, the authorities have demonstrated their dedication to maintaining a smooth and secure environment during Bakrid celebrations. Their efforts reflect their commitment to upholding law and order and safeguarding the well-being of the citizens during this religious occasion.
As Uttar Pradesh gears up for Bakrid, security measures are being implemented rigorously to ensure a peaceful and joyous celebration. The significant deployment of police personnel, increased security presence at mosques and Eidgahs, and strategic planning demonstrate the authorities’ commitment to maintaining law and order. By taking proactive measures, Uttar Pradesh aims to provide a secure and harmonious environment for all those participating in the Bakrid festivities.
