Stock Market Holiday for Bakri Id Postponed to June 29 from June 28

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced on Tuesday that the stock market holiday for Bakri Id has been changed to Thursday, June 29, instead of the previously scheduled date of Wednesday, June 28. This decision comes after the Maharashtra government postponed Bakri Id’s holiday in the state to June 29.

Additionally, the expiration and maturity date of FUTIDX, FUTSTK, OPTIDX, and OPTSTK instruments has also been adjusted from June 28 to June 29. The NSE stated that the settlement schedule will be suggested separately by the respective clearing companies.

While Bakri Id is celebrated on June 29, it’s important to note that banks in some cities will remain closed on June 28. Branches in Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram will not be functional on June 28.

The following cities will observe holidays on June 29: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar.

As the stock market holiday for Bakri Id is rescheduled, investors and traders should take note of these changes. It is important to stay updated with new holiday schedules to avoid any inconveniences or disruptions in trading activities.

This adjustment in the stock market holiday reflects the government’s decision to shift Bakri Id’s holiday in Maharashtra, ensuring alignment with the revised dates. The NSE’s announcement emphasizes the need for clarity in settlement schedules and suggests that respective clearing companies will provide further guidance.

The rescheduled stock market holiday and the changes in expiration and maturity dates of financial instruments are necessary for maintaining a smooth trading process. Investors and traders should consult their brokers or relevant authorities for any additional information or guidance regarding these adjustments.

It is crucial for market participants to plan their activities accordingly, considering the revised dates and potential closure of branches in certain cities. By staying informed and adapting to these changes, investors can effectively manage their portfolios and ensure seamless operations during Bakri Id and the associated stock market holiday.
