West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s helicopter made an emergency landing at Sevak airbase on Tuesday. Following the incident, West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose called up the Chief Minister to check on her well-being. Initial reports suggest that Banerjee had sustained minor injuries on her leg and waist while disembarking from the aircraft after the emergency landing.
The Governor’s official Twitter handle released a statement, stating, Hon’ble Governor Dr C.V. Ananda Bose is relieved to know that Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is safe after the emergency landing of her helicopter today. Dr. Bose enquired about her safety and well-being.
After the emergency landing, Banerjee was taken back to Bagdogra airport and promptly flew back to Kolkata. Upon her arrival in the state capital, she was taken to the S.S.K.M. Medical College & Hospital for a thorough medical check-up. Although the injuries were minor in nature, doctors wanted to ensure that the Chief Minister was in good health and no further complications arise.
At present, no further details on the cause of the emergency landing have been released. Given that Mamata Banerjee is a popular political leader in this region of India, the news of the emergency landing and her subsequent medical check-up has been the talk of the town.
It is important for leaders to prioritize their health, especially during a pandemic. We hope that Mamata Banerjee is in good health and will recover swiftly from her minor injuries. Our thoughts are with her and her family during this time.
