The BCCI and ICC have officially released the schedule for the upcoming World Cup 2023, which will take place from October 5th to November 19th. With the tournament just 100 days away, fans are eagerly waiting for the chance to watch their favourite teams battle it out on the field.

According to the schedule, India will play their first match against Australia in Chennai on October 8th. The opening game will see the 2019 World Cup finalists, England and New Zealand, face off against each other.

The semi-finals of the tournament are scheduled to be held on November 15th and 16th, with Mumbai and Kolkata serving as the venues. If India makes it to the top four, they will play their semi-final match at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, regardless of their position in the points table. However, Pakistan will not play in Mumbai if they reach the semi-finals and will instead play their knockout match in Kolkata.

In the event that neither India nor Pakistan make it to the top four, the first and fourth placed teams will play the first semi-final in Mumbai, while the second and third placed teams will play the second semi-final at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The announcement of the schedule is a relief for overseas fans who can now plan their travel to India to witness the World Cup. The ICC is expected to release details of ticket bookings for all the venues soon, as the tournament is set to start in three months.

The World Cup is one of the biggest cricket events in the world, and fans are eagerly anticipating the matches. With the schedule now confirmed, cricket enthusiasts can start making plans to support their favourite teams.

It remains to be seen which team will come out on top in the end, but one thing is for sure – the World Cup 2023 is going to be a thrilling and unforgettable event that fans will cherish for years to come. Let’s prepare ourselves for an abundance of exciting cricket matches and see which team comes out as the champions in November.
