The leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has highlighted the Hajj pilgrimage as a ritual that can render all the plans of arrogant powers and Zionism futile. In his recent Hajj Message to pilgrims and Muslim Ummah, Imam Khamenei said that Hajj is a rite that can uplift human society and enhance the health and security of all people.
He stressed that spirituality and unity are the main pillars of Hajj. Unity means being connected both intellectually and in practice, having an economic connection between Islamic countries, and trusting cooperation between Muslim governments. It means working together against common definite enemies, and not allowing the bitter experience of the political and territorial engineering of West Asia (Middle-East) at the hands of western governments after WWI to be repeated.
The Leader called on Muslims to learn spirituality and ethics from the Hajj rituals, warning that unity and spirituality are subject to the enmity and sabotage of the Arrogant Powers and Zionism at this time. He warned that the enchantment of ‘ethics without religion’ promoted by Western intellectual sources has resulted in this unrestrained collapse of ethics in the West.
Hajj can annul and render ineffectual all the plans of the Arrogant Powers and Zionism for the moral downfall of humanity – today and in the future, emphasized his eminence.
Imam Khamenei firmly believes that Hajj not only has spiritual significance but the potential to bring together Muslims from across the globe. He believes that it can bless all humanity with spiritual and moral elevation, something that humankind needs desperately.
Hajj is a beautiful religious practice that can bring peace to this troubled world. It is a spiritual journey that has the capacity to unite people from different races, languages, and cultures.
