The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is expected to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming PM Mitra Mega Textile and Apparel Park project in Lucknow. The minister for medium, small, and micro enterprises, Rakesh Sachan, has announced that the project is set to accelerate the state’s effort to become a $1 trillion economy. The project is estimated to attract an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and provide employment opportunities for one lakh youths.
The park will be located in the well-connected Atari village of Malihabad block, on the outskirts of Lucknow. The state-of-the-art facilities to match global standards, including road networks, 24×7 power, and water supply, warehouses, zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, training and skill development facilities, administrative building with product display facility and exhibition centre with testing laboratory, workers’ hostels, housing zones, medical facilities, commercial and recreational facilities, open spaces, and parks, security arrangements besides industrial plots and plug and industrial sheds.
The minister said the project would enable UP’s economic journey, fostering job creation, enhancing trade opportunities, and positioning the state as a major hub for textile manufacturing and production. Moreover, three multi malls are proposed for Uttar Pradesh in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur.
The government has engaged in discussions with Union commerce and industry minister, Piyush Goyal, regarding this initiative. Sachan has encouraged more enterprises in the state to come forward for registration while acknowledging the significant packaging challenges faced by small businesses.

The project’s vision is to provide top-notch facilities and infrastructure, along with creating employment opportunities for the youth population.
