The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) and Nasscom Center of Excellence (CoE) are hosting the 11th edition of the Lifesciences & Healthcare Innovation Forum. With a theme of Patient Centricity in the Digital age: Transforming Healthcare through AI, the conference will explore the latest developments and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and how it could impact patients. The forum will bring together key stakeholders from government, industry, innovation, and technology to exchange ideas and drive thought leadership on implications, challenges, and best practices in the healthcare industry. Meity-nasscom CoE is also organizing its unique digital transformation initiative, Healthcare Innovation Challenge (HIC), to encourage innovation in the healthcare sector.
The event will take place in Bengaluru, India, on June 30, 2023, starting at 9:30 a.m. Delegates from various organizations and government departments will be present to share insights on how DeepTech innovation is disrupting the industry and how digital transformation breakthroughs are enhancing healthcare quality. Meity-nasscom CoE CEO, Sanjeev Malhotra, said that adopting new-age technologies like AI in healthcare could unlock disruptive advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care, adding that the forum’s primary aim is to highlight the latest advancements in the healthcare sector and promote implementation of innovative solutions.
This event is part of the healthcare industry’s mission to transform healthcare through emerging technologies such as AI. The use of AI in healthcare comprises areas such as diagnosis, drug design, clinical trials, monitoring patients, and prevention of diseases. Recently, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued guidelines on telemedicine services in India, increasing opportunities for remote consultations. The ministry has also launched initiatives like Ayushman Bharat to provide public health insurance services and has developed vaccination tracking platforms to generate data on vaccination coverage across the country.
