The BJP has lambasted Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after three Bajrang Dal activists were allegedly attacked in Shivamogga city. The party accused the State Government of failing to protect Hindus and added that the CM failed to provide adequate security under his Tughalk regime. The BJP also said that the Congress had provoked the Bajrang Dal and tried to sideline the organization since coming to power. Meanwhile, the police said that the activists were knifed by Irfan, Tousif, and their aides after arguing with them. Three Hindu activists were hospitalized after the violence. Security in the region has been strengthened while two people have been taken into custody by the police. Karnataka has a history of violence connected to the Bajrang Dal. Religious tensions erupted again in the state in 2022 following the murder of Harsha, a member of the organization, during a hijab crisis.
