India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has stated that India is becoming more powerful and capable of hitting terrorist networks both within and beyond its borders if required. Singh added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to take action within just 10 minutes of the Pulwama and Uri incidents, highlighting India’s strong willpower. Under Modi’s government, India has taken significant steps against terrorism, including surgical strikes across the Line of Control in 2016 and the Balakot air strike in 2019. Singh stressed that the world is united, including Muslim countries, in fighting terrorism. He argued that Pakistan is achieving nothing by parroting Kashmir and should instead focus on putting its house in order. Singh reminded listeners of the terrorist attacks of Uri in 2016 and the Pulwama district of south Kashmir in 2019, reiterating that India has both taken and will take major action against terrorism.
