In a further sign of big changes soon to shake up the entertainment industry, Google has announced new features that developers can use to dramatically transform content creation.
Google’s flagship developer conference, I/O, took place in Northern California last month, and Google’s Gemini AI garnered a lot of attention, and is now available to developers around the world.
One notable feature for the entertainment industry was the announcement of the Google VideoFX feature, a video model based on Google’s DeepMind video generator Veo.
VideoFX can create full HD (1080p) videos from text prompts, and Google also introduced a new DJ mode for MusicFX, an AI music generator that can create loops and samples from prompts.
Google has also added a Gemini AI toggle button to the side panel of several Google Suite apps, including Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. Currently, the Gemini button can answer questions, compose emails, and provide an overview of documents and email threads.
It remains to be seen when these tools will be used on a regular basis, as developers need to create user-friendly interfaces and apps.
